| Ok, so there was this guy here in town that had a 91 or 92 300zx twin turbo 5spd. He didn't know anything about the car and only listened to his fart pipe wielding cavalier owner friends for advice and he winds up burning out the clutch last week and trades the car FOR FIFTEEN HUNDRED DOLLARS (yes $1500) on a piece of crap mustang. I go to the dealership today to inquire about the car and one of the sales staff starts off instantly with the salesman bs. This car is making 360hp this that makes your member bigger, ends african aids the battery makes the stereo louder etc etc but i know for a fact its a BONE stock engine. He's pretty hard to deal with because he's pretty convinced the car is worth a fortune. The kicker was he kept pointing to the CAS and calling it a "racing pulley system" Anyway after getting through to him that i DON'T believe his salesman BS but still trying to remain calm and personable we start talking money. The paint a two tone silver and west texas dirt red w/ a dark grey doesn't match anything stripe between the colors, there are drips in places and the rear wing "molding" job looks terrible but mr. salesman seems to think its a show stopper. The front fascia has sone paint cracks and one of the fenders has some flaking. Overall it's not a terrible paint job but the awful color and the half ass workmanship could be better. Mechanically i know the motor is not original, its a usdm TT motor pulled from who knows where, it sounds healthy and even though the salesman thinks it has "stage 2" turbo's they look like every other stock T25 i've ever seen. Even still has a stock exhaust downpipes and cats. The injectors are stock and it looks like the upper intake manifold has never been off the motor. The car is also salvage title for reason's I do not know. The car came from houston supposedly and the guy that traded it got it from his cousin down there so i'm willing to bet its some sort of water damage that made it salvage title. Even still the int. looks good, not as good as my 2+2 but only my seats swapped in and a good shampoo/armorall away from being very nice. Now I know they only have $1500 + a napa clutch invested inot the thing but they won't budge below $3500 on a SALVAGE title 300zx, with an ok interior and a pretty nasty paint job. I want a TT so bad I'm willing to get it for about that much but I'm still not done haggling. But my main question to yo u all is, how much do you think a fair condition SALVAGE TITLE 300zx TT is worth? Should I low ball them some more or give up while i'm ahead. Keep in mind i'll be borrowing money from family to pay for this car and will be selling my 91 2+2 5spd in the very near future to pay that money back.
